What makes you passionate about being a healthcare provider? Hello, my name is Jennifer Cittadino APRN. I am a certified Adult Nurse Practitioner with more than 40 years of nursing experience including primary care, emergency, pain management, administration and academics. I am a board member of the local County Nurse Practitioner Council. I am also a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and the Florida Nurse Practitioner Network which I have served as a past board member. I am a preceptor for nurse practitioners from several local universities and have precepted in a family medicine residency program. I have also been featured on several Health Matters segments on our local news station. In your opinion, what should be the role of a primary care provider for a patient, taking into account both physical health and behavioral health needs? The role of a primary care provider is that of a mentor and educator to their patients. As a provider I convey compassion, provide a caring environment for my patient and family. I provide open communication, understanding and respect. Listening to the patient and really understanding what is being said both verbally and non-verbally are keys to a great provider-patient relationship. Tell us a little bit about yourself. What do you like to do in your spare time? My most cherished activity is spending time with my family and my rapidly growing grand daughters. I also enjoy the beach, shopping, being out on the boat and just hanging around the home. I am also interested in real estate and enjoy going to open houses and new community model homes in my spare time.
