Family Medicine allows you to assist in offensive preventative medicine to ensure improved overall health and wellness, as well as defensive medicine when the patient is in most need. To be there for your fellow man in time of need is a calling. In your opinion, what should be the role of a primary care provider for a patient, taking into account both physical health and behavioral health needs? The primary care physician's initial responsibility to the patient is to assist with preventative medicine to avoid disease. The second responsibility is to utilize evidence-based medicine to ensure the right decisions for health and disease are performed using shared decision-making. Tell us a little bit about yourself. What do you like to do in your spare time? I am a board-certified family physician and diplomat of obesity medicine. I have two children and love to attend their school events and extracurricular activities which tend to keep me very busy.
