What is PrEP (Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis)?

PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis) is a medication that people at risk for HIV take to prevent getting HIV from sex or injection drug use. If you don't have HIV, taking PrEP every day can lower your chances of getting HIV from sex by more than 90%.

Who should take PrEP?

Anyone who has sex with a partner who has the virus, anyone who has condomless sex with a partner whose status is unknown, and those who share injection drug or tattoo needles can benefit from being on PrEP.

If you would like to speak with a provider about whether or not you should start on PrEP, book an appointment to have a consultation with an experienced medical professional.
