A primary care provider serves as the captain in navigating a patient's healthcare needs by addressing physical and mental health through preventative care, regular check-ups, and managing various chronic conditions. Additionally, they play an important role in recognizing and addressing behavioral and mental health concerns, through counseling and prescription medications, and coordinating referrals to specialists when appropriate.
