Yes. Our board-certified providers can prescribe non-controlled medications for anxiety, such as SSRIs and SNRIs, when clinically appropriate. For conditions that may need controlled substances or more complex psychiatric care, your provider will refer you to the right specialist. A few things to know: A prescription isn't guaranteed. Your provider determines the right treatment based on your full health profile.Follow-ups are every two weeks for new treatments or dosage changes, then monthly for ongoing care.

Can I get an anxiety diagnosis online with Circle Medical?

Yes. Circle Medical's board-certified providers can diagnose mild to moderate anxiety through a video appointment — no in-person visit needed. At your first appointment, your provider will evaluate your symptoms, health history, and any other contributing factors. Most patients receive a diagnosis within 1–2 appointments. If treatment is appropriate, your provider will create a personalized care plan, which may include medication management, therapy referrals, or both. Keep in mind that booking an appointment doesn't guarantee a specific diagnosis or prescription. Your provider uses evidence-based tools to determine the best course of care for you.

Can my primary care provider at Circle Medical treat anxiety?

Yes. Circle Medical providers — including board-certified MDs, DOs, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants — are equipped to diagnose and treat mild to moderate anxiety as part of primary care. If your needs are more complex, such as conditions that require a psychiatrist or specialized mental health care, your provider will guide you to the right resources. Therapy referrals are also available everywhere Circle Medical offers care.

How long does it typically take for anxiety medication to start working?

It depends on the medication. SSRIs and SNRIs — the most commonly prescribed medications for anxiety — typically take 2–6 weeks to build up in your system and reach full effect. Some patients notice gradual improvement earlier, but it's normal not to feel a difference right away. Your Circle Medical provider will schedule follow-up appointments every two weeks when you start a new medication or adjust your dose, so they can track your progress and make changes if needed.

Can Circle Medical help me manage anxiety without medication?

Yes. Medication isn't the only path forward. Your Circle Medical provider will work with you to build a personalized treatment plan based on your symptoms and goals, which may include a referral to therapy or talk therapy alongside — or instead of — medication. If your needs go beyond what primary care can support, your provider will connect you with the right specialist.

Does my provider accept my insurance?

We accept most major insurance plans. Individual providers may be in-network with different plans, and we're unable to accept certain plan types based on our insurance contracts. To confirm your coverage, run an insurance check during the booking process or in the Circle Medical web portal and mobile app.

How much will my appointment cost if I'm using insurance?

We will provide a cost estimate at booking, although there are cases where insurance will not provide real-time benefit information. Your final out-of-pocket cost is determined after we submit a claim to your insurance, and is based on the details of your insurance plan. For an exact estimate of your cost, we always recommend contacting your insurance directly.

How does billing work?

If you choose to self-pay, you will be sent an invoice shortly after your provider finalizes your appointment summary (typically within two days). Any balances that are not paid within 48 hours of invoice notice will be charged to your default payment method on file. If you choose to bill your appointment to insurance, it typically takes 4-6 weeks for your insurance to process your claim and return your out-of-pocket cost, including any applicable deductibles, co-pays, and/or coinsurance. The amount on the invoice should reflect the balance that is owed after your insurance has paid its share. You will be sent an invoice letting you know of an upcoming charge for your out-of-pocket cost. Any balances that are not paid within 48 hours of invoice notice will be charged to your default payment method on file.
