What makes you passionate about being a healthcare provider? I enjoy helping people understand their health and make informed decisions to improve it. As a primary care provider, I really get to evaluate the whole person and am trained to handle a wide variety of problems without having to refer which is nice. I enjoy getting to know each individual and their life circumstances which also allows me to maximize well-being for that unique person. In your opinion, what should be the role of a primary care provider for a patient, taking into account both physical health and behavioral health needs? The primary care provider is responsible for providing knowledge and options to the patient in terms of what changes they can make to improve their health and lead the life they want. However, it should always be a partnership and care should be patient-centered as the patient is the one who will be living with the choices made. A good primary care provider will help the patient understand their health problems and together, they can work on improving the patient's physical and emotional wellbeing. Tell us a little bit about yourself. What do you like to do in your spare time? I am a new mom and my infant son takes up a lot of my time right now! But I enjoy reading, traveling, and Zumba. I also run a small health education nonprofit which has been a really rewarding experience.
