In your opinion, what should be the role of a primary care provider for a patient, taking into account both physical health and behavioral health needs? The role of a primary care provider is to thoroughly understand the patient's overall health, encompassing medical issues, socioeconomic factors, and behavioral health needs. As the primary care doctor, I act as the quarterback of medicine, ensuring seamless coordination of care among various specialists and services. This comprehensive approach allows me to provide patient-centered care that addresses all aspects of the patient's well-being. Tell us a little bit about yourself. What do you like to do in your spare time? I am a board-certified internal medicine doctor, born in Aibonito, Puerto Rico. I attended medical school in Puerto Rico and completed my internal medicine residency at UT Health San Antonio. In my spare time, I enjoy the outdoors, hiking, swimming in the river or beach, and traveling.
