Tell us what makes you passionate about being a healthcare provider. I believe humanity is connected by empathy and compassion; my most important value is to be of service to others. I love providing healthcare to my fellow humans to reduce suffering and realize optimal well-being. It is a true honor to serve my longtime and local community of San Francisco. In your opinion, what should be the role of a primary care provider for a patient, taking into account both physical health and behavioral health needs? As a PCP, I am a partner with my patients to help them understand their health values and goals by taking into account their physical, mental and emotional needs across their lifespan. It is essential to always consider each patient's personal beliefs, family, lifestyle, socioeconomic and cultural factors. A PCP must be approachable, skilled in active listening, proficient in assessing, diagnosing and managing a variety of health conditions, responsible in following up and through and open to feedback; most importantly, a PCP should demonstrate kindness and compassion in all interactions. Tell us a little bit about yourself. What do you like to do in your spare time? I am a longtime SF resident and am community minded and social justice driven. I love travel, backpacking, cycling, animals and nature (especially my dog!). I am retired from endurance athletic endeavors and am now an avid yoga practitioner.
