About Matthew Caffey

Matthew has been a PA for over twelve years with specialties in primary care, emergency medicine, mental health, and specifically ADHD with that being his doctoral focus. He is a licensed PA in California, New York, and Florida (however, he is currently not taking new patients in the State of Florida) and has a flexible schedule to help meet his patients' needs with varying hours that include late evenings. Regarding Matthew’s further background, he has been a professor who has taught PA students and allied health professions at multiple universities for over a decade, written a book and developed an App for pharmacology, and his original starting point in medicine was a firefighter/EMT and then critical care paramedic for many years. He holds his Doctor of Medical Science (DMSc) from the University of Lynchburg with each of his prior degrees being concentrated on medicine as well. His main focus with being a clinician is listening to his patient's needs and making sure that physical, mental, and other attributes of their healthcare are being heard. From there, he enjoys developing a rapport with them to work on a shared plan to meet those needs as he believes everyone's healthcare should be individualized to them and that he will always try to do his best for patients. Additionally, he is quite passionate about being a patient advocate and thoroughly enjoys breaking down the tough concepts with the different conditions, their explanations/causes, and then their treatments into easy-to-understand points so that patients feel more comfortable and understand their health better. Otherwise, he is an avid explorer, who enjoys traveling across the East Coast from starting in his local area (with his home being in rural Kentucky). He enjoys driving through mountains, forests, and rural areas, but also popping into major cities to enjoy museums, zoos, and aquariums. Lastly, he appreciates spending time and traveling with his pupper (Nott the Brave), relaxing with some peaceful time at his home when not traveling, and then enjoying pop culture as he is an avid cinema, comic, random trivia, DnD, and gaming buff.
