In your opinion, what should be the role of a primary care provider for a patient, taking into account both physical health and behavioral health needs? My role as a primary care provider is to listen and provide solutions to empower the patient to be the best version of themselves. This could be through empowering lifestyle changes, utilizing medications, or via therapy both physical and emotional/behavioral. What makes you passionate about being a healthcare provider? The ability to facilitate positive changes in the patients that trust me with their care. This to me is the best part of being a provider, watching a patient improve their health both physically and mentally. Also I enjoy educating my patients on healthy lifestyle changes and their disease process. I believe educating is the best way to optimize the care being received and it encourages patient involvement in their healthcare plan. Tell us a little about yourself. What do you like to do in your spare time? My all time favorite is spending time with my daughter, our Sheltie Teddy and cat Shadow. Another favorite pastime is traveling. So far I've visited Amsterdam, London, Paris, Barcelona, Rita, Dubai and numerous Caribbean islands. I love learning and experiencing different culture and trying different foods. The beach is my favorite place and where I relax and restore. I enjoy reading and read 1-2 books monthly from self help books to Sci-if depending on what mood I'm in.. I also enjoy roller skating for exercise and exercise 2-3 times per week.
