What makes you passionate about being a healthcare provider? My passion in healthcare is fueled by having the opportunity and privilege of building a rapport with patients, advocating for them, and helping to guide them in their health and wellness journey. It brings me great joy to see patients improve, thrive, and become the best version of themselves. In your opinion, what should be the role of a primary care provider for a patient, taking into account both physical health and behavioral health needs? I believe the role of a primary care provider needs to entail active listening, compassion, and a holistic approach to care - one that takes into consideration both the physical and emotional wellbeing of the patient. Throughout many years in primary care practice, I have come to learn how important it is for providers to take the time to explain, educate, and to engage in shared decision making with their patients. Tell us a little bit about yourself. What do you like to do in your spare time? I have been practicing as a Physician Assistant for the past 18 years, most of which have been spent in Primary Care/Internal Medicine. I married my best friend 16 years ago, and I am blessed to be the mom of two wonderful sons. In my spare time you can usually find me on the sidelines cheering for my boys. I also enjoy going to the beach, spending weekends in the mountains, skiing, crafting, taking walks with my husband and our beloved Golden Doodle, and game nights with friends.
