What makes you passionate about being a healthcare provider? I enjoy providing care to the adult/older population and give them tools needed to improve their health outcomes. I have been in this field for over 20 years and have enjoyed all of my roles. In your opinion, what should be the role of a primary care provider for a patient, taking into account both physical health and behavioral health needs? A major role of the primary care provider is to understand the entire patient needs. This includes access to care, financial burdens, lack of knowledge and any mental health that could impact care. Patients at times have a preconceived idea on mental health which could impact multiple aspects of care and lead to chronic conditions from poor self-care. The role of the primary care provider is to evaluate and treat or refer to meet all the needs of patients. Tell us a little bit about yourself. What do you like to do in your spare time? I am someone who does work hard but also love my time off. I go hiking, backpacking and snowboarding. I enjoy traveling as often as I can. I enjoy spending time with my family and my dogs.
