What makes you passionate about being a healthcare provider? I have been in medicine since 2000 and I love my job. I enjoy the challenge of helping patients feel better. My experience in both Emergency Medicine and Primary care give me insight in how to keep my clinic patients out of the ER, while recognizing emergent issues that require aggressive management. In your opinion, what should be the role of a primary care provider for a patient, taking into account both physical health and behavioral health needs? My goal is to be the first resource for a patient’s physical and behavioral health. I love managing acute and chronic issues, but I recognize when patients need a specialist to get involved. I strive to be an advocate for patients. Primary care providers are the quarterback on a patient's healthcare team. My job is to provide excellent primary care and get the patient to a specialist, when necessary. Having a great relationship with patients is important. They trust us to take good care of them. Tell us a little bit about yourself. What do you like to do in your spare time? I have been married since 2000, and I love that my husband still makes me laugh every day. We have two adult children and a very energetic dog named Silas. I love being outside, working in my gardens or hiking with my dog. My husband and I love to travel. Our last trip was to Australia and New Zealand, an amazing experience!
