What makes you passionate about being a healthcare provider?
I value having a sincere connection with patients — it’s the hallmark of a therapeutic alliance. I am passionate about providing holistic, empathetic care across the healthcare continuum. This sentiment is what motivates me to provide the best possible treatment plan for every patient I encounter.
In your opinion, what should be the role of a primary care provider for a patient, taking into account both physical health and behavioral health needs?
I believe the role of any Primary Care Provider is to be actively involved in patients’ physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. This requires being engaged, listening to their concerns with intensity, and understanding their unique needs. I also believe the provider/patient relationship should be peer-to-peer rather than hierarchical; shared decision-making empowers patients to be involved in all decisions surrounding their own health.
Tell us a little bit about yourself. What do you like to do in your spare time?
I’m originally from Tennessee but have lived in New York City since 2013. In my spare time, I enjoy traveling (especially abroad), reading a nice fiction novel, cooking at home, growing indoor plants, and spending time with my partner. I also have a fluffy white cat named Sebastian, who I love dearly!
