What makes you passionate about being a healthcare provider? Over the 20+ years I’ve been a physician I have created strong bonds with my patients and their families. I love this closeness we develop, which allows me to treat each patient according to their own individual needs. My patients are like family and I treat them as such. Every one of my patients is a “VIP” in my eyes. In your opinion, what should be the role of a primary care provider for a patient, taking into account both physical health and behavioral health needs? A primary care physician has the responsibility of taking care of the patient as a whole. Behavioral health needs are just as important (usually more important) as their physical health needs. Only by taking care of the entire patient can one achieve the true responsibility of a primary care provider. Tell us a little bit about yourself. What do you like to do in your spare time? I am married to my best friend for over 20 years (credit to her for putting up with me for so long!!!). We have four children ranging in age from 12-20 years old. When I’m not spending time seeing patients, I enjoy sports, cooking, traveling and spending time with my family.
