In your opinion, what should be the role of a primary care provider for a patient, taking into account both physical health and behavioral health needs?
I strive to incorporate more of a multifaceted approach to my practice. I understand that unless I address issues related to the patient’s depression, anxiety, or possible social limitations, that there will always be a barrier to managing other comorbidities. I always ensure to treat the whole patient.
What makes you passionate about being a healthcare provider?
I am passionate about being a PA-C because not only do I want to help patients during their acute struggles, but I also strive to empower patients to take control of their overall health. I am very passionate about lifestyle and preventive medicine. I always want to make sure that my patients understand their condition as this puts them in position to think about their health in a proactive manner and take control of their decisions so they can live their healthiest life.
Tell us a little bit about yourself. What do you like to do in your spare time?
In my spare time I am competitive runner and love racing and training with my team. I also enjoy alpine and backcountry skiing, hiking, traveling, gardening, and doing van life on the weekends with my family.
