In your opinion, what should be the role of a primary care provider for a patient, taking into account both physical health and behavioral health needs? The role of the provider is to offer a safe environment for patients to be open and honest without judgement. As a provider in these uncertain times it is imperative to take in all aspects of health care which includes physical and behavioral health. What makes you passionate about being a healthcare provider? Reaching the medically underserved and providing care has always been my passion, as I faced these challenges myself throughout childhood.In 2001, I recognized the unmet needs of an underserved and uninsured population and what began as a screening program evolved into a primary care practice. Tell us a little bit about yourself. What do you like to do in your spare time? I am an avid triathlete and have competed at the world championship level. When I am not busy training I enjoy resting and relaxing camping with a good warm campfire.
